Chris Davis trade value...

Postby whatinthebluehell » Thu Dec 31, 2009 8:16 pm

What is your thoughts on Chris Davis's trade value in a dynasty league. I'm interested in aquiring Andrew McCutchen. Who gets the better of the trade and what are you're thoughts on Chris Davis in the next couple of years???

Until he proves that Texas will give him more than 350 at bats, he has zero value.

edit: So call him nothing more than a sleeper, and if you can afford the spot, hang on 'cause this guy has big time power.

Had 400 ab last season and 300 the year before...

I'm trying to package him up to get Andrew McCutchen. The other guy needs a 1B, which he has none, I need a CF

I think if you can package Davis with someone else it would be a very good trade to get McCutchen. He is going to blow up. I think Davis has long term keeper value but has struggled as we all know so far and strikes out way too much. Who would you package with Davis to try and get McCutchen?

please help

McCutchen is better in the first place, and on top of that this is a sell low and buy high that probably won't work. You'll have to add to Davis to get what you want.

His trade value in a dynasty league is certainly greater then in a shallow keeper or year to year league, but it isn't in the same class as Andrew McCutchen. Davis does have off the charts power, and his contact rate did improve after getting sent down to Triple-A, but you'll likely have to toss in a pretty sizeable piece to get McCutchen. If you can do it, I probably would, since you mentioned needing a CF. Davis should be good down the line, but he'll be good as a power with a low BA type, McCutchen has a chance to be a true 5 category guy as he matures.

I think McCutchen has more value to me. Davis has potential, but McCutchen is already showing he can play in the bigs. Plus as a negative for Davis he's got a possible replacement sitting right behind him in Smoak. Davis may have some value in a dynasty league, but it probably won't come out for a couple of years, or when he's traded away from Texas, which could hurt because no park is as friendly to power as Arlington.

Certainly if you can get McCutchen for Davis + I'd do it, as long as the + isn't a ton.
