Trade Help

Postby YanksOs » Tue Dec 29, 2009 11:58 am

I was offered Hunter Pence and Stephen Drew for Morales. I don't need Morales, I have Miggy and Morneau already for 1B and U. I have Tejada at SS so it would be nice to add depth/upgrade. I have to give up the 12th pick for the 24th pick in our Dynasty draft and that would be Happ, Dye or a late tier closer that would add depth to my team. The only problem is that Morales has two years on his contracts and Drew and Pence only have one year.

Any thoughts? Could I get more fro Morales?

Thanks and WHIR.

It's hard to say without knowing the particulars of your league (Stat Cats, teams, setup, etc.) and the actual contracts (is there money involved?). Could you post those? Still, my gut reaction is that you might be able to get more. I'd say 1 year of the two players for 2 of Morales is about even; I don't like the drop in draft pick. All three players involved have some pretty big question marks, but I think Morales is the best bet to give you excellent value over the next 2 years.

I think you can probably get more. Just because you don't need Morales, doesn't mean other people dont.

2 for 1 trades are usually better for the guy getting the 1, and Morales is clearly the best player in the deal. I can't understand why you'd need to give up a draft pick as well.

If anyones getting a draft pick, it should be you. Drew was putrid last year, and Pence was OK, but not great in any facet aside from his throwing arm, which I'm guessing doesn't count in your league.

Depending on your other OF's, I'd rather see you trade Kendry straight up for Pence, and keep the 12th pick.
