http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/giants-close-to-deal-with-mark-derosa.html6:17pm: The Giants and Mark DeRosa are in agreement on a two-year deal believed to be worth $12MM, tweets SI's Jon Heyman.
1. The 3B and LF markets get a little thinner.
2. Hopefully this doesn't raise Beltre's price too much
3. Pablito to 1B, most likely
4. Good to see the Giants still adding people for their peak years

Yeah, who else would bat there?
If that is the case, I would expect his value to rise significantly.

I think DeRosa's projected numbers of 68r and 74rbi's won't change much but At&t has huge gaps and HR are harder to come by. I think he gets more XB hits while his HR decrease by about 5. So about 15 roughly speaking. Average should be stable also. Still a last resort 3Bmen in fantasy leagues.
I would agree he would have to bat 4th. I haven't looked to close at the SF lineup but off the top of my head I don't think they have anyone else to bat behind Pablo.

Pablo Sandoval... I'd bat DeRosa 2nd probably.
You'd also bat Werth leadoff

I don't hate the deal as long as they put DeRosa in LF which assures Velez isn't a starter. It does give us quite a bit of flexibility to work with the rest of the roster (can still sign or trade for a LF/1B/3B) and he can fill in at 2B if/when Freddy Sanchez gets injured.
I assumed Pablo bats 3rd as he's their best hitter by a mile.
