I just have to say that if you're going to include golfers as "athletes" then you must include race car drivers. I know there are lots of race car driver fans in here...Met comes to mind.

Nah not really, the three females I mentioned maybe. I could probably think of others but that's a good list to go ahead and start with.

I don't think that there can be any argument against Haile Gebrselassise as athlete of the decade. In the oldest sport with the most participants he set 27 world records.
