how to calculate pitchers baa

Can anyone help with this calculation? I was using Hits/(TBF - walks) but i'm certain im missing something from that formula.

your denominator should be:

TBF-SH-SF-BB also subtract IBB if your BB source doesn't combine them

i think that's right...

there might be some goofy things that impact this, too, like interference or plays along those lines

you could also just do Hits / IP*3 + hits, but it won't be exactly accurate since double plays and sacrifices will skew the numbers.

But it will be accurate enough if you're just doing it for evaluation purposes.
