Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

Alright...here is the trade. I am trading Pablo Sandoval and Justin Upton for Longoria and Jason Bay. We are in a keeper league where we get to keep 7 players. My main concern is Sandoval's future at 3rd base. If he were to stick I don't think I would do this trade...but that is seeming unlikely. What do you think?

Getting Longoria would be nice but I am a big believer in Pablo and love Upton's potential. He could be a 30/30 guy at the age of 22! Keep what you have here.

yeah it seems like all the advice i get points to rejecting this trade. I guess I get too obsessed with having a sure stud at a weaker position. I'm probably undervaluing Sandoval a little bit as well for a keeper as it is most likely that he will at least make 5 starts at 3rd next season which qualifies him the following season at that position. Sandoval is still a little bit hard for me to value in a keeper. So I guess I want to change the topic of this post to specifically him. What do you think of his value as a keeper going forward?

I'd pretty much do all I could to get that beast Longoria. I'd definitely make this trade.

I would have said no to this immediately, especially if Bay signs with the Mets and has to play half his games in citi Field. Bay and Longoria are only good for HRs and RBIs, while Sandoval is good for AVG, HRs, and RBIs and Upton is good for AVG, HRs, RBIs, and SBs.

I stick with what I have, mainly because of Bay's age. Upton is already just about as good, and like a decade younger.
Little help?

It's only cheating on your favorite team if you get caught... Like the '07 Series.

Ok, so you asked about Pablo's keeper value. I personally think it is very high. I mean he hit 330 with 25 bombs last year and he was a fat panda bear! This offseason he has been working with a trainer to lose the weight and be in better shape. I have read where he has already lost 20 pounds. If he gets in better shape that can only mean better things for him. I see him hitting 300+ with 30+HR and 100+RBI easily this year. No matter what position he is eligible at these are some big keeper numbers in my book. I think he will be a top 25 performer at least in the next year or two. But that is just my opinion.
please help with this one if you can thanks
