Sickels Prospect Book...

Postby B-Chad » Thu Dec 24, 2009 12:05 am

In doing some prospect digging I came across the fact Sickels does his own Prospect Book. I was oblivious to the fact he had his own prospect book and am curious how it stacks up to Baseball America's Prospect Handbook? I've read Sickels stuff in Baseball Prospectus ( I believe, maybe I'm incorrect !+) and liked it, and I'm aware he's a well thought of baseball mind, just curious what others think. I'll almost certainly be getting his prospect book along with my third consecutive BA Prospect Handbook :-D .

I have bought it in years past. It is pretty good. He posts excerpts from it on his blog http://www.minorleagueball.com/2009/12/ ... #storyjump
"I do not think baseball of today is any better than it was 30 years ago... I still think Radbourne is the greatest of the pitchers." John Sullivan 1914-Old athletes never change.

I recommend Sickels to any baseball fan. Fantasy or not.

Yeah, I love reading up on prospects. Glad to hear another positive review. Have his page bookmarked and will be ordering it. Curious to see how he rates out Rafael Rodriguez in the Giants organization... loved his BB:K for his age :-D

I like following minor leaguers and really get into it at times but I've found the more I disect things with all the minor leaguers the more I start to over value them when it comes to fantasy baseball. :*)
