Billy Butler trade

Postby triple3play » Wed Dec 23, 2009 7:50 pm

First off, are there any projections on Butler this year? I was offered Butler and his first round FA/Rookie draft pick (#7) for Friedrich and Meja. Between my pick and his pick, id probably be able to draft players as Casey Kelly, Mike Montgomery, Matt Morre, Julio Teheran, Chris Withrow and others. I dont necessarily need Butler as he would be a backup 1b or DH on my team unless he really blows up, which is something i think can happen this year. Any thoughts?

I would take this easily. I love Butler's bat. I see him being a top 5 round player by the end of the year, if not higher.

The guys you are giving up are prospects, and not even the top echelon type.

I would easily take this trade. He has a lot of potential. I posted an article at the end of last year, after Butler hit his 50th double. He became like the 8th player all time to do this under the age of 23. Those other 7 guys are HOF or they have already written their speech.

I agree with the others. Butler could have a break out year and you aren't giving up much to get him. Do it.

Butler could easily go 30/95 and a .300 average this year....
