How many 23 year olds could go 20/40? Vmart each year, is catching less and less. He plays a lot of 1B, mixing in DH. In some leagues, he will lose C eligibilty soon.

You said it yourself, COULD, not WILL.

And VMart may be catching less and less, but he's still the Sawx starting C.

For the first time since he won Boston's starting catching position in 1999, Varitek spends his winter knowing he is preparing to be the backup. Victor Martinez, one of the best offensive catchers in the game, will get the bulk of the time behind the plate.

Copied straight from this link. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/news/artic ... p&c_id=bos

Don't see him losing that eligibility this year.

Depends on your league rules i guess? In my leagues, a player needs 75% at a position to qualify there. VMart caught 55% last year. As you say, that likely increases. I guess we just care to disagree? A 23 year old with power and speed, to a guy who at age 31, won't last at c for very long. This year only i might lean Vmart, but keeper no.

Interesting stat VMart last year

317 AB as a Catcher last year and he had a 783 OPS
255 AB as a 1B and he had a 942 OPS

Small sample size I know but something to think about. Don't worry over Jones he is a decent option but not someone worth keeping. Don't keep RP. Figgins is alright but I would take the other two guys first.
