It's more concerning to me that they'd be paying 2 players half of their team's budget unless they're going to significantly boost their payroll. They've been in the $90-100M for the last 4 years.

I don't think anyone was saying that. The Cards need to be careful with Holliday because they need to keep enough open in the budget for Pujols.
