Juan Pierre is not a good baseball player.
His last 5 season OPS+ 84, 82, 77, 75, 105
Below average for four out of the past five years, playing out of the weakest division in BB.
But, but he steals bases!
Career 75 SB% Not good, not bad. But isn't 75 percent the cut off where stolen bases stop becoming effective? wOBA or EqA accounts for both SB and CS, and he is below average in both.
How much salary did they take on? Fantasy purposes, cheap SB, but real life Kenny Williams is really making a bid to lose his job. Rios, Andruw, and Juan?

all that doesn't matter in fantasy. his SBs make him a force.

Yep, PT makes him a force too. If he played every day in LA, he'd easily be a top 15 OF with those steals.

Fantasywise, ya. I don't know about Top 15 though

Pierre could be just what the Sox need to turn around lineups of slow beefiness.
Andruw was super cheap, super low-risk.
Rios -- it would be foolish to give up on him just yet. I think good things could be coming from him.
Not giving up on Rios, my comment was more direct at Kenny Williams adding 130 million dollars with of salaries of Peavy, Rios, Teahan and Pierre over the last 5 monthes.

Rios has yet to be seen, but I thought the Peavy move was gutsy.
Peavy Career Home/Road Splits PetcoERA 2.82 WHIP 1.09 SO/BB 3.67 Away ERA 3.79 WHIP 1.28 SO/BB 2.55
Now a move into the AL?
