so if Damon returns to NY then Holliday and bay are increasingly finding themselves w/o teams willing to pay the big money. the Mets, STL, LAA and the M's are the recent teams that I can think of linked to these two. It seems that STL could come out as the big winner if they can bring Holliday back at a reasonable value.

Guess it depends on what you consider reasonable value. The Cards latest rumored proposal was in the neighborhood of 8 yrs @ 16m per.
This makes me so sad. Not only was I hoping Cammy would end up back in Seattle playing left, but to have him go to the douchiest franchise in all of sports makes it even worse. If Beltre ends up there too, I will probably cry.

I was hoping the Sox would trade for someone who could hit, but signing Beltre would be ok now.
Great signing for Boston, though they sure better play him in CF. I hated to see him leave Milwaukee, though I understood the logic of needing to re-allocate some resources for pitching. Two straight years of 4+ WARs...he's an .800 OPS CF who's well above average in the field, even at his age. He's chronically underrated due to his middling batting averages and high K totals, but they just don't matter that much. Boston should suit him well with his pull-conscious swing from the right side.

Usually you're more informed than this Gabe. He didn't sign with the Yankees.
I think something to remember here is that it seemed like Ellsbury was getting really banged up in CF and Cameron is the better defender. This likely saves the wear and tear on Ellsburg imo.
