Heard that the Sox have, or are close to, signed Mike Cameron to play LF.

The Red Sox also reached a tentative agreement on a two-year contract with Cameron, according to a person familiar with those negotiations. That deal is subject to a physical, the person said on condition of anonymity because the agreement was not yet final.
The moves seem to indicate Boston has abandoned an attempt to re-sign slugging outfielder Jason Bay.

2 yr/16 mil. Not sure if that is the greatest deal for a 37 yr OF. And no, he would not be playing CF.

Cameron in CF>Ellsbury in CF. Cameron is a lot better at going back on balls and has a stronger arm.

Did you say Ellsbury in a platoon? That makes little sense at all and that would very likely not happen. Talk about stunting his developement, platoon him with Hermida? No way.

Cameron would platoon with Hermida, mostly against righties. Ellsbury would play centerfield those days.

The deal which will become official after Cameron passes a physical, will be worth in the range of $15.5 million.
Cameron would be an everyday player for the Red Sox, one source said; none of the deals he was discussing with clubs involved a platoon.
It is not known whether he would play center of left field. Jacoby Ellsbury is currently the Red Sox's center fielder, but the Sox have told other clubs that they were considering moving him to left field.
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/1052 ... th-CameronSo it looks like Mike Cameron is going to play everyday possibly in center with Ellsbury moving to Left.
