Trading for Hanley...WHIR

Postby Zhangman1 » Mon Dec 14, 2009 8:03 pm

14 Team h2h, 6x6 OBP & Hlds, Keep 5 each year

Got a pretty good roster of keeper prospects so trying to move some and make a move for Hanley. Would a package of Tulo, Markakis, and Wainwright be enough to get Hanley? Or should I try Tulo & Wright (I'd much rather keep Wright b/c I think he can bounce back)?

Promise WHIR, leave a link

My initial thinking before reading the rosters was that a 3 for 1 would make little sense for the other owner with only 5 keepers... but that said, he is pretty thin at keeper. I would personally angle for more if I were a Hanley owner, but it is a good starting point, and worth a shot.

I think Tulo, Markakis and Wainwright is a great offer to at least start out with. He may counter but you are offering good value in return. Tulo is the real deal, Markakis has more talent and potential than he showed last year and Wainwright is a Cy Young type pitcher. If I was that guy with Hanley I would seriously consider this offer because as B-Chad said he is weak with his keepers and a 3 for 1 makes sense for both sides. Go for it!

Thanks for your help with mine

Quick question - do you need two 3B? They are going to be scarce commodities this year and you might be able to get a stud in another area in exchange for either A-Rod or Wright. You may already be thinking about that, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Just as an FYI, I'm a big believer in Tulo and think that long term he could be as good as Hanley. Maybe that feeling makes me less excited about this trade than my counterparts, but if you truly believe the Hanley hype, and don't need the other guys (because you can't keep them anyways) you might as well try that 3-for-1 deal. It seems pretty solid and fair and I'd pay attn to it if I were him. But then again if I were him, I'd come back at you and try to get one of those 3B :)

Thanks for your help on mine!

I dont need 2 3Bs (i played one as UTIL), so I could ship out Wright to get a stud (I don't see the overall upgrade in moving ARod unless it straight up for Hanley). I mean I could use either to make a run at Utley or Hanley.

Would it be worth it to give up Wright and Tulo for Hanley? that seems steep to me.
