I think it's just a pdf of the book though, to get updated projections you need to subscribe to the website.

I'm not a BaseballHQ subscriber & the copy of the book I have (ordered through Amazon) says non-members can get one free 2010 projections update "on or about March 1."

The book says if you want more than that (complete PDF version of the Forecaster + Excel versions of most key charts), then you have to be a subscriber.

This thread convinced me to pick a copy of the Forecaster up at lunch today.

I need some help on something I saw in the book. When looking at the indexes in the back of the book, Joe Mauer is listed in the top 10 in roto snake drafts, but in auction values for the same exact settings, 15 teams/5X5 he's hovering outside of the top 30. I don't get this, and it's true of a lot of players draft and auction values. Am I missing something? I am an auction novice so I might be.

I am a first time Forecast user and although I "hate" numbers and advanced math, I found the book to be very interesting. The writing is not a just a rehash of the statistical data in the book. It is insightful, and at times entertaining. The "blurbs" at the end of each player’s statistical break down saved me.

I am working on a way to combine the Mayberry Method with the Portfolio3 Plan AND consider the LIMA Plan!

Seriously, about as an effective tool for fantasy baseball I have every come across. I always buy a magazine to kick off my fantasy baseball year. The Forecaster put it to shame.

In addition, as far as access to the site - I think if you purchased the book directly from Baseball HQ they threw in something a little extra. I cannot remember what it is. I know I have downloaded a ton of excel spreadsheets that will be updated the first of March.

So, is it worth the extra $10 to get this from Baseball HQ so you can get the PDF's & spreadsheets or to save the money and just get it at Amazon?

you also get it about a month earlier too. If you aren't going to use the spreadsheets just buy it from Amazon. But I find the time saved by having the projections and HQ numbers CT%, PX and SX on one handy spreadsheet worth a few extra bucks
