I think they tell you January to give themselves a little leeway incase there is some delay. People started receiving it the same time last year.

I was thinking about picking up Forecaster but according to the website, you are only allowed to download the updates to the projections until March 3rd. After that, you have to join the baseballhq season pass.

My thinking is that the projections would not change that much after March 3rd as I am not a big believer in Spring Training Stats. You would just have to keep an eye on injuries. Is this reasonable?

Spring Training stats are always interesting fodder on these boards... but my take is that the stats are only as important as what they determine in terms of playing time. As long as a player doesn't get dinged up in the Spring, or miss capturing a starting spot, the stats themselves are of little value IMO. Sadly, at the same time I keep a close eye on them anyways :-b

Got my Forecaster last Friday.

I really like the content, and Shandler is usually spot on with over/under valued players (nobody is right with projections).

Bring on some off season tradin'!

That is what I want to hear. I guess projections is supposed to give you an idea of the level of output, not always the exact number of HR, SB or RBIs etc....

My main concern is getting bargains and avoiding the overhyped BS players out there. Anyone else concur that Shandler is the man in terms of identifying the true diamonds in the rough and the true turds in the field?
