Braun/Kinsler trade

Postby ducksnorts1972 » Sun Dec 13, 2009 5:23 pm

Does anyone think that a Braun for Kinsler deal could be close enough to pull the triger on? I have a loaded OF.. with Braun, Justin Upton, Josh Hamilton Alfonso Soriano... I currently dont have a keeper 2B... I think Braun is better and will be better than Kinsler.. But i was curious what you all thought.... Braun is cheap at $1.75... Kinsler is at $2.75 ..

I WOULD NOT do that....

KEEP BRAUN.

Your OF is NOT as deep/loaded as you think. Braun and UPTON are money. Josh Hamilton and Soriano are not what I would want in my OF.

Hammy is going to be 29 this year and really hasn't had a solid half of baseball since the first half of 2008. He was injured last year and I would def'ly label him semi-injury prone.

Soriano is going to be 34 during this season! He's been in decline since 2006. He batted .240 last yr with 20HR/9sb???? He only batted 477 times last year. He's had nagging injuries and hasn't had a 500 AB season since 2007.

I would not feel confident at all about my OF with those two in it... You'd be better off with Shin Soo Choo than hammy or Soriano. Of the two i'd favor hammy more bc he's younger and IF healthy i could see a 25/100 .300 OF'er and throw in maybe 5-8 SBs.... not too shabby, but thats healthy and where i'd tab him maxing out.

Defly wouldn't move Braun for Kinsler.

Not a fan of this deal for you. Kinsler is a top notch 2B but injuries have derailed him in the past. I would look at trying to move Soriano and others to find a top notch 2B.

I'd rather have Braun by a good bit and I'd be more confident in him improving than Kinsler. Braun cut back on the K's last year and if he can drive the ball like he did in '07-08, he could have a massive season. Not only is Kinsler a bit injury prone, it's hard to pinpoint on what kind of BA he'd hit for. It seemed like he was more homer-happy last season, which hurt his average.

A better, smarter move for you would to be to try and deal Soriano. Keep Braun and draft a 2nd baseman.

not even if the salaries were reversed which makes this the easiest of passes. 2nd base is pretty deep this year. 12 months ago this was alot closer

nope not at all.

Keep Braun... get a good young OF and kinsler maybe
but he'd need a markakis, kemp type OFer to make me consider it.
