Carp and AGon for Timmy?(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Fri Dec 11, 2009 8:25 pm

12 team dynasty league, 5x5 roto style, we each took over a National League Team and an American League Team and their respective salaries, made some cuts, trades, will have FA signing, etc.

I have the Giants and the Twins and have been made an offer from the guy who has Red Sox and Reds.

He has offered Youk and Chris Carpenter for Tim LIncecum. IS this enough to give up the young phenom? Or I could have Pedroia or AGon(possibly) instead of Youk. I might be able to get him to bite. Who would you take and would you trade Timmy?

Now, the guy is backing out a little. We have a free agent bidding that goes on pretty soon and he says he is going to go after Bay and Holliday hard with the money he has free so he said he would give either one of them with Carp for Timmy. Would you do one of those?

It seems a pretty fair deal... However, I simply don't trust Carp at this point. At the very least, in deep keepers, I tend to favor hitters, so your getting a sure thing in the deal, but what happens when carp only makes 20-25 starts?

I'd try to hold out for a little more, or at least until you see where the OFs sign... either one going to METco (as rumored) and the deal all of the sudden seems very unappealing.

you are the only guy I know that will sell Linc at about 2/3 of his worth. If you insist on moving him, at least offer him up to the entire league where you should do much, much better than anything mentioned here
