TULO at #13 overall?

Postby tribefan08 » Thu Dec 10, 2009 7:15 pm

Anyone considering him there?

I draft on the turn and i plan to take howard or Fielder and then see what else is there.... I'm really hoping for longo to fall, but i dont know how things will shake out by march....

it is only DEC!

SS is so shallow, and if i dont take TULO there, i know he's not coming back (12 team H2H) its a total redraft this year but we're assinging 3 yr contracts to two players.

I know i'll have a stab at guys like Justin Upton, Possibly Grady, Longo maybe (probly not), wright? ETC

I really hope to take a big dog 1B and then what? SS (tulo) or Kinsler? or J-up???

I wouldn't mind picking Tulo that early but I would make sure you get another stud like J Upton would be my pick if he falls to you. Second and third would be Wright and then Grady who both should have big bounce back years and will almost suredly be around when you pick in the second round.

please help

i dont think i mentioned, i draft 12th, i won my league, so i have the 12 and 13 picks, so basically i'm hoping a big dog like howard falls to me AND i'm talking about taking TULO as my second pick at #13....... Justin upton won't be there on the way back, he's a top 15 pick, if you think he's falling farther id' have to say you're wrong.

Yeah, I got confused there for a second :-D . Sorry about that. If I were you I would draft either Howard or Prince like you said and then I wouldn't pick Tulo that high actually now that I think about it. If J Upton, Sizemore, Wright, Longo are available I think you have to go with one of them. I doubt Longo will be available that late but would take him first if he drops. Second, I would take a chance on the phenom Upton and hope he puts it all together at age 22 and goes 30/30. Next, I would go with Wright as his power hopefully will return and is a solid second round pick. Lastly I would take the disappointing Sizemore if all the rest are gone. Hope that helps more than my last post that didnt make any sense. Sorry again. ;-D

please help on this one when you get a chance.

I'm just not seeing Tulo go that high in all the mocks & lists I've see. You are welcome to take him there, I just think there will be better choices available

in mocks at mockdraftcentral he's going 18th overall, and has went 11th at the earliest. He's a SS that went 32/20 .297 last year? He was a 7th pick overall in the draft, he has the pedigree, the position, and he's 25 years old.

Taking him at 13th is not far off from 18th, and its Decemeber. The ADP from mocks is not very good right now! Mark Teixiera is #6 right now over Matt Kemp? FALSE. Horrible rankings, until real drafters get in there and straighten them out you can only take them with a grain of salt.

Sure i can take a justin upton or maybe grady there with the pick I have, BUT..... are they going to play SS for me? thats the huge positive I think of TULO....

I dont know, just trying to spark a little debate. I will agree tulo may have had a career type year last year, who knows....

continue!

No way. Tulowitzki a near first round pick is silly. Wait, if you don't get him so what.

I wouldn't draft Howard at 12 if you are keeping him for 3 yrs. I'd rather have Upton personally - Howard's trends are discouraging and that first half is brutal on H2H. If you can nab Fielder then I'd take Longoria/Upton/Sizemore/Wright on the turn before I take Tulo. If Fielder is gone then I'd take two of the above.

This is all, of course, assuming Lincecum isn't there. Just my two cents.

Howards trends are EXCELLENT for h2h! who cares about the first half, get by, stay in the hunt.... he can single handedly carry your team when it counts! the second half and into playoffs....

I'd love longo, dont know if he'll be there, or wright, i really would like to have a big bat 1B either fielder or howard and then take an INFIELDER, ideally being a 3B.... I love grady, dont know if i want to take on his batting average, we count individual hits, singles, doubles, triples, HR's etc, so its key to get guys who will hit for average or at least thats my theory....

I'd love to take Lince there, and i think he might be, i just dont know if i can make myself take a pitcher in the first round! it just goes against everything i believe in! HAHA
