I'm between 3 guys: Chase Utley, Miguel Cabrera and Evan Longoria.
Chase Utley: Gotta love getting a steady 2B at this point that puts up the numbers he does. Having OPS as a 6th category helps further his cause as some of the other 2B with good power numbers and shiny BA's don't walk enough to post OPS that even sniff Utley's.
Miguel Cabrera: Flat out stud with the stick. He'll post a monster OPS, BA and awesome counting stats. He'll contribute little to nothing in SB's though, and he plays a super deep position. Though I'm not usually overly concerned about position early on, if it's close between a couple players it'll be taken into account.
Evan Longoria: Might be reaching here a bit given that Cabrera will outproduce him by a signifcant margin in BA and OPS... but Longoria is a 3B, and will also chip in some SB's. I'll go out on a limb and say Longoria cracks double digit SB's next year. He stole 9 this year, and has 16 career stolen bases against 0 caught stealing. Given Maddon's tendency to send his guys on the basepath, 10-12 SB's from someone as efficient as Longoria has been wouldn't surprise me. I love his improvements in both his BB rate and K rate. That should point to improvements in his BA and OPS. I think Longoria has a legitimate shot at hitting .290 this year and posting and OPS over .900. That will shorten the gap between he and Miggy in those two categories.
The more I think about it, the more I like Utley. Longoria comes in second, since I think he'll be a better producer then Utley in at least year 3, and perhaps year 2 as well. That said, Utley is such a huge step ahead of those at 2B, I don't think you can pass him up. I would be very hard pressed to take an OF at your spot unless of course Braun were to fall. There are just sooooo many good OF's and you can get some that fit many different molds (burners like Ellsbury, mashers, etc.) as the draft moves along.
Anyways, those are just some thoughts. Hope they are of some assistance. Come round 2 I'd probably hope to land Adrian Gonzalez and hope he gets free of the death trap that is PETCO
