14 team Roto 6X6 with OPS and Holds first year draft. I have the fifth overall pick. Start C,1B,2B,3B,SS,CI,MI LF,RF,CF,OF,Of,UTIL, 5SP,4RP,2P, 10 Bench I'm assuming the top 4 will be some mix of: Albert Pujols Hanley Ramirez AROD Ryan Braun Obviously if any of those 4 fall thats who I take but I'm weighing my options and have some ideas but would like to talk it over. Thanks.

I know lots of people hate taking catchers, but Mauer has to be in consideration. The value he gives you above and beyond the rest of the guys at his position only increases his standing.

I would probably take one of Utley or Howard. No I am not a Philly fan but you can't beat their consistency. Utley will hit close to 300 or above with 30+,100, 100, and 20+. He is the model of consistency and will produce at a weak position. Howard is also consistent to hit for 40+ and 130+ and there are very few players in the league that you can count on year in and year out to hit for that kind of power. Wright is another consideration. His power should come back....hopefully and his other numbers are great. Mauer wouldn't be a bad pick either but I personally wouldn't pick him as high as number 5.

The three guys I was really contemplating were Mauer, Utley and Kemp. Not sure what direction I am going to go.

I agree. No way would I grab Mauer at this spot. Kemp would have to wait for me, too. Maybe I put Utley into consideration, but a pick'em between Miggy and Braun seems in order.

snake draft? keeper league or no? names I'd consider for a non-keeper Prince, Utley, Lincecum, Miggy in keeper leagues I'd drop Utley & Miggy farther down on the list and add J Upton, Kemp, Longoria

Why would you drop Miggy down the list? His bb/k ratio, wOBA, EQA are better then those 3.
