I'd keep Longoria even with A-Rod already occupying 3B. Longoria is currently the more advanced hitter, Upton's upside is just about limitless (and his 2009 season was awesome), but I'll stand by Longoria on this one.
As crazy as it may seem, what about not keeping Arod? While it may hurt for the next year or two, the dropoff may not be so great, and the long term of having those 3 as a core would be very tempting to me.

You aren't that crazy... I gave thought to suggesting the same The immediate numbers wouldn't support that stance, but as you said, that core would be sick long term.
You should keep Longoria. A. There is a chance you could get Upton back and if not then maybe you swing a trade of Arod/Longoria for Upton and another player or something but B. You have to look at winning now. If you keep chasing the next great thing, you will end up as the first loser at best. As much as you can project Upton at the moment you don't know what he will do. I love the idea of Upton as well but just look at what his brother has been doing. He has had just as many people think he is ready for the big time only to miss year after year. Keep the studs you have and maybe make a deal after the draft but don't give away the better talent for a maybe stud.

Not many trades go down in this league (during the offseason or in season for that matter). I did send a feeler out to the Braun owner though. The guy who has Utley also has Wright and I know from past talks that he'll only trade Utley for Pujols.
