Chase Utey, Gil Meche for Robinson Cano, Brett Anderson and Mat Gamel?
Which side would you rather have in a 24 team dynasty and any thoughts on Gamel would be appreciated.

I was thinking what ensanimal said, but seeing it in "print" made me pause.
This is very close to a yes for me in a league so deep in which two or three B+s might outweigh an A or an A+, but I'm thinking no still.
Gamel's maybe not a B+; that's the clincher for me. The bat looks decent, but being blocked and going to tougher positions don't. This time last year, I was convinced he could rake from any position; now, I'm not so sure.
If he bowls you over with another player in this deal or a better third than Gamel, then you'd likely have to take it.

Just remember that Gamel is one of the worst major league 3rd basemen since Braun manned the position. I'm not sure how long they'll keep him at the position - I've heard things about either OF or 1B.

What if I counter with Jesus Montero instead of Gamel?

Now, you're getting somewhere. That's a much better deal. I'd wait to see if someone else likes it, too, before doing it, but I could see doing it now. In a 24-teamer, you'd still have a strong 2B option (top 5), and the pitching upgrade and great prospect will matter in a league so deep. Is there a beneficial way to add something else to the offer, something slight but again a benefit to you? A lesser prospect you believe in? An extra prospect pick? A useful but cheap veteran like an Adam LaRoche? If he's getting his Utley, he might be willing to sweeten the pot.
