Wright/Hamels or Morneau/G.Beckham

Postby bigken117 » Mon Nov 30, 2009 4:01 pm

dynasty league, 6x6 with BB being the other stat for hitters.

just traded David Wright, Cole Hamels, Wandy Rodriguez, and pick 2.06 in our minor league draft for
Justin Morneau, Gordon Beckham, Casey Kelly, and pick 1.05.

Morneau slides to 1B and moves Nick Swisher one step closer to the FA pool. Beckham replaces Wright at 3B. I now have picks 1.05 and 1.06 so I should be able to help my pitching, someday. If I can't turn those picks into a proven pitcher now I should have selection of Chapman or any 09 draftee except Strasburg.

Getting lots of different opinions...

How about some more :-B

A lot depends on how Beckham does in his second year and what happens to Hamels. I am fine with the deal and can see how both sides like what they got. I like Wright a lot but do wonder what happened last year and hope he can bring some HR to the table. But really the deal is pretty fair and like I said it depends on Beckham. If he handles 2B he could easily be a top 5 guy at that position which be nice.

Who takes over 3B next year for you if/when Beckham truly does switch over to 2B for the White Sox this season?

(of course you could always just worry about it next year; just make sure you know it will be another hole to fill for next year. And if Beckham doesn't live up to standards you might have two voids to fill)
Good luck, feel free to PM me

That's my plan :-) I have Utley at 2B, and Becks will carry a much higher value qualifying there, so I should be able to fill my 3B hole via trade if I need to.
