OK, you pick 8 keepers

Postby NY Knights » Thu Nov 26, 2009 3:47 pm

This is a mixed points league, pick 8 keepers

Pujols
Votto
Pedroia
Rollins
Crawford
Hamilton
Markakis
Adam Jones
McCutchen
Peavy
Hanson
Street

What do folks think about Hamilton? Does he give me 2008 or 2009?

Hamilton wil likely be closer to '09 than '08 but hopefully he can have a few less injuries.

What is the points breakdown? Could change a few things if they overvalue pitchers or speedsters or something.

This is pretty close to what I think as well. Hamilton and Markakis could be swapped and this depends on your feelings for either. Both had some issues last year and both could easily turn things around with really good years...or not.

So why no love for Pedroia? He was 115R, 15 HR, 72 RBI, 20 SB, with a .371 OBP.

At 2B, you have Utley and Kinsler in the top tier, and then there's a second group, with Roberts, Pedroia, Phillips, Cano, and Hill (although I wonder if Hill will repeat). That whole second tier should be gone by about the 5th round. After that you have Zobrist, Lopez, Uggla, and a big drop off. In an 8 keeper league, you wouldn't keep all the guys in that second tier? Or is Hanson just that good a prospect?

Thats my bad. I meant to have Pedroia in there and then pick between Hamilton and Markakis. Pedroia is an easy keeper in this league.

Your team is just stacked, two good players are going to be left off, including Adam Jones also. I'd probably keep Pedroia over Votto, since you already have a 1B.
