During the draft, money goes with their players. One of the reasons why trades should still be fair according to player talent & money involved. I.e., it would be suspect if a trade was a $40 player for a $1 player, which would actually amount to a scheme to move some money around. As I look for trade options during the draft, I try to keep money as tight as possible (in this case it was a $3 difference) while paying attention to talent.
My rationale for the trade was my need for a decent outfielder while not losing too much at my shortstop. I gave up the best player in the deal, but in theory he's on the downward--the beginning of the downward--slope of his career, so I'm okay with replacing Rollins with Andrus in that respect.

I thought it was fine to free up cap space if need be. I really don't see that as being a collusion issue, its when you get nothing back in return when it becomes more of a shifty-eyes moment.
I was even thinking of proposing a trade where I can free up around $10 of cap to spend on someone... guess I cant do that. :( :( :(

No, you can free up cap space, don't get me wrong. But ideally trades should be primarily about the players. If you trade Ryan Braun to me for Hunter Pence, that's a bit off, no? But if you have a few players in the deal, the deal looks pretty good, and there's $10 difference, no problem.
What it comes down to is this: in the rules it says that no trading of cash is allowed. We want to follow the spirit of that rule by not making lopsided deals (talent-wise) where obviously the only real thing being traded is money.

Ok, good to know. So basically, don't act like the pirates or blue jays then!

One main reason, besides their aweful customer service, is that their 'new digital signal' won't let us use our Tivo like we used to. They basically rendered it useless, then they shut off our modem because it was outdated but never sent us a letter/email telling us they were going to do that. That on top of them not letting us use our own modem (which would've prevented the whole thing in the first place)... all three of us are going to save some coin and say good bye to those guys.

That's what I assumed but wanted to make sure I understood it correctly. Thanks Boom
So, with several trades being made, a spot in the rules becomes very relevant. I just copied and pasted the rules from another league, so they are not particularly by my design. Here's the thing:
Once a player is traded he cannot be traded back to the same team for a period of 12 months.
Do you all like this rule? I suppose I'm fine with it, but if everyone hates it we can get rid of it.
