Rob, other than $80 for Juan Pierre, I don't think you can spend too much on 1 player, but I do think you, or anyone else, could end up spending $260 for $200 worth of players, when you need $330 to win.

CL - Clearly it means you need to spend your last dime on this guy. ;-)

Why in the heck did I bid $7 on Lowe? :~(

I've always liked him, but with the pitching still out there, that was a freakin waste of cash.

That being said, I do like Cuddyer for $6. OF and 1B fill in when I need it and give me good stats to go along with it. Always underrated IMO. Of course this could be another year when he takes a crap and gives me nothing.

Probably should have listed him as RP, but I'm so used to clarifying closers as CL and set-up guys as RP in my other league that counts holds...just changed it for you Not So Silent Rob ;-D

Just because most leagues don't spend money on pitching, doesn't mean there isn't great value in pitching. I suggest you spend your money on pitching in this league, 'cause it appears everyone else is.

This is an interesting statement. It appears that half of us are spending big money on starting pitching while the other half isn't (and with the relative shortage of remaining cash won't be able to). I found this auction very interesting because of some of the differences between cash outlays. Speed and relievers seem to be another couple of categories that we can't seem to make up our minds about. I came into the auction with a plan but then changed it up when I saw some of the bidding. I'm not so sure now that I should have done that. Maybe ayebatter is right - we'll just have to wait and see.

I see in some of the recent posts that there are some regrets over bids etc. Looking back I have to say I'm also not thrilled about some of the prices I paid. I'm curious to see whether I feel this way because of how the bidding trends went or simply because I screwed up. :-{ This round could be an interesting one!

Cuddyer's an interesting guy there. I was tempted to go another dollar on him ... guess we'll have to see if my hesitation was right or not.

I think the next couple of rounds will be interesting since now the dollars are tight and everyone will be trying to find bargains while filling remaining needs.

The fact that we don't use FAAB in the league means that mistakes made during the draft won't hurt you as bad throughout the season.
