As long as a roster can be entered into yahoo legally, there is no issue.

Assuming that whatever you have planned could be successfully entered as a legal team come yahoo submission time, you're good.

I don't believe that buying 9 bench spots and leaving an open active roster spot during the auction, so you can make a post draft trade to fill that open active roster spot is in the best interest of having an auction. Not being able to make the trade during the draft because of money constraints is precisely why we're having an auction instead of a snake. I believe you should just fill your spot catcher , with some schmo, and make your trade probably Weitersafter the draft.

As far as I can tell after your bench is filled, and the only spot you have left is catcher, you can't make another bid on anything but catcher. Find another way to get/trade Weiters.

You're mistaken. All players are eligible for roster - even if that means they must sit on the bench.
