And top-secret sophisticated projection algorithms I've tweaked and refined since playing in my first roto league in 1984.
I have no idea what you're talking about Rob.
I don't know what's more useful - the bank of quantum computers in my downstairs bunker or the $50 I spend on Baseball Prospectus and Baseball Forecaster. In the end I too waste way too much time using my gut to decide whether to blow that all-important extra dollar on the next bid.
I'm gonna need like 100 players up for auction this week, since it's going to snow here all week.
It's very cold here too and we had our first snow yesterday. Perfect baseball weather!

This is a new experience for me. I'm usually pretty frugal. Trying a new strategy this year.

And it looks like the frugal Boomer will be the last on the board. Boomer it looks like you're using the 'don't look 'till at least 40 players are off the board' method.

Who to dominate next round....
What I love about fantasy baseball is the almost endless variety of strategies a person can adopt. Bid big early and then stuff your team with fillers later, downplay starters, average hitters over power and vice versa etc etc. As far as I know no one strategy has been proven to be the best. Maybe it's because in the end you also have to be lucky with injuries, trades, moves etc. How many of you guys have read the book Fantasyland by Sam Walker?
My wife bought me Fantasyland last year for Christmas and I decided to re-read it throughout this slow auction for the enjoyment of it. Good book, funny to look back on some of the players he met and had experiences with and see where they are now.
