Rank these 10 players for 2010!(WHIR)

Postby kidsilk » Tue Nov 17, 2009 9:03 pm

Mixed Dynasty League, 5x5 roto style, I am in the middle of a dispersal draft and the following are in my estimation the top 10 players left on the board. I should be able to pick 2 of these guys. How would you rank them for 2010?

King Felix
Zambrano
Webb
J. Lopez
S. Drew
Reynolds
Soriano
Ichiro
Dunn
Aramis

King Felix

*** (A fairly significant gap here. Felix is still young as a pup, and he just snaked a coupla first place Cy votes during Greinke's remarkable year)

Reynolds
Aramis

*** (Another gap, but not so big. I'm tempted to put Reynolds up with Felix: that was top 5 production, but with his contact rates, there's risk assuming it all breaks out that perfectly again. Still, both of these 3B are stellar, and I would definitely gamble on health for Aramis and continued excellence for Reynolds.)

Webb
Dunn
S. Drew#
Ichiro

**** (A tough quartet: Drew should be better, and he's got the tools to slap up a year to make us question why we like Tulo over him. Webb should be fine, and he could easily be the first guy taken here. A lot of people are scared of Dunn's BA, but I love, love, love his power production. Ichiro's such a power lag that it's a downfall for OPS leagues. In your 5 x 5 league, I could see bumping him higher; I just wouldn't want to discount his age).

Soriano
J. Lopez#
Zambrano

*** (I was tempted to list Soriano last, but he's been elite and might have chances to rebound. Lopez is an underrated 2B option: he won't win you a league, but he certainly won't lose it either. Zambrano's probably better than last, but if I could have any two players from this list, I wouldn't have him at the end unless I were forced. I'm scared of his workload and he's really shown more weakness than I'd like to see.)

In the end, I'd love to leave here with Felix and a 3B. Dunn or Ichiro are good consolation prizes for the 3B, but Felix/Reynolds is the winning lottery ticket here.

#Please note that you wouldn't likely have to spend one of your first two picks on Lopez or Drew. I like them this much, but I would wait and take the one that slips. There's no way I could justifiably take Drew over Ichiro when the trade value is so different.

Sorry for a potentially confusing post.

A couple of these could very well change depending on how my team looked after the first few rounds.

Well, I drafted Reynolds because Felix was gone. So, Webb, Lopez, Drew, Soriano, Aramis and Zambrano are still available. Who do you think I should take next? I already have Morneau at 1st, Sandoval at 3rd and Reynolds at CI but I could use Aramis at UTI and I think that might be the best next pick. What do you guys think?

gotta say I'm scared to death of Soriano & Z and wouldn't take them ahead of anyone here.I don't see A Ram getting back to you but would be fine with Ichiro or Drew. Dunn, Webb if those are gone

WIth CI & UTIL, definitely go with Aramis next if you can.

I'd say, assuming Ichiro and Dunn are gone, that I'd want Webb next. I'd take any of those hitters over Webb, as good as he is, just b/c of the unknown return from injury.

Then it's the bigger need: SS or 2B.

If it comes to Soriano or Zambrano, check the player pool again. I can't see taking one of these guys next.

Actually, if Aramis, Ichiro, Webb, and Dunn are all gone, check the player pool again. You must be able to wait longer for Drew or Lopez, too.
