Why wasn't he on the mound to face Matsui in the third inning last night? You won't go with Happ but will go with Durbin later in the game? Durbin sucks! I'm sorry, but Manuel just looks really dumb after this series.

Manuel is a pretty bad in game manager. I love the guy, but he killed us multiple times this series. Oh well. At least we got back to the WS. :-)

Some day-after thoughts...

Just want to congratulate the Phillies on a good series and a great season. I didn't believe in them last year and I doubted them at the start of the playoffs this year again too and they keep proving me wrong. Great team and should be a contender for years to come. Ryan Howard seems like a good guy, like him a lot. Victorino and Lee as well. And Utley is the man. I think Rollins is a big mouth and my only regret about that 9th inning was allowing Ruiz to get on base so that Rollins wouldn't get to be (fittingly, IMO) the last out.

Like I said before, I feel like I was too young and dumb during the 90s to appreciate what was going on. I'm savoring this one. Cano scooping that ball and flipping it over to Teixeira last night became my favorite baseball moment ever. I'll remember that one for life. I know all the other championships and moments by heart from seeing them over and over. But I couldn't tell you where I was for most of them. Last night was something I've been anticipating for years. Yes, I'm spoiled. Every Yankee fan owes a great debt to George Steinbrenner and his family. And what Mariano continues to do year after year is just astounding. Eight closers went to the postseason and 7 of them either blew a save or took a loss. Mariano is the only man standing. It's going to be a cold day in the Bronx when he's no longer there to run in from the bullpen.
