How Are My Prospects Looking for 2010?

Postby JRM4833 » Wed Oct 28, 2009 1:43 pm

Within a month or two I'll have to make a decision on whether to keep or dump my prospects. For each one I drop I'll get a pick in this year's minor league draft (would be picking 3rd). Unfortunately, the biggest names are already off the board but the 3rd pick would still net a solid prospect (don't know who's available until other teams make their decisions). But in any event, I feel pretty good about my current prospects and am hoping for some feedback. Also, I'm not necessarily looking for production in 2010 but also long term.

Carlos Santana
Chris Carter (Oak)
Josh Vitters
Lonnie Chisenhall
Jordan Lyles
Jake Arrieta
Michael Inoa

Thanks in advance.

Vitters & Ynoa dropped some this year, the others will be in most people's top 50. Ynoa is so far away and still a big gamble. Really depends who you think you can get at #3 or in the 2nd round if it's worth dropping Ynoa or Vitters. Do you have a rough idea? Obviously, the other teams aren't going to drop their top guys, so who are the top prospects not on a team?

Vitters could be a toss back easily. Ynoa has massive upside, but he's years away. Arrieta could be a throwback too, depending on who you think you could get.

I'm personally not very high on Chisenhall, but I'm not sure there'd be a whole lot better available in your throwback pool.

From most droppable to least:

Chisenhall
Inoa
Vitters
Lyles
Arrieta
Carter
Santana
