I like your last option of trading Bartlett for Rollins and a pitcher and tossing pitcher for Roberts to fill 2B. Bartlett was awesome at the beginning of the year, but he definitely tailed off after the All-Star break. I don't think he's as good as his numbers suggested he was this year. Rollins, too, has tailed off from being an elite talent, but I'd still take him over Bartlett.
I don't think that's a terrible deal, Roberts is obviously top-tier (though $19 ain't cheap). Do you know you could get him for one of your SP (and which one)? If so, I would probably do that...
Perhaps a stupid question -- have you given thought to keeping Weeks? I don't remember seeing in your post what kind of league it is, i.e. H2H, points etc. Do you think he's a fluke? Depending on your views on his value (and the fact that he's $12 cheaper) might be something to consider.

------------- He wants Lee. Also, don't think Weeks is worth it, never really put together a good full season. Thanks for the advice tho!
okay, here is final deal, leaving out players I do not keep:
I trade Bartlett ($9), Andrus ($5), and my draft position for Rollins ($16), Roberts ($19), Blake($6) and the last (12) draft position.
Blake is instead of getting the other guy's draft position, which would be from 1-8. I figured Blake is a good cheap corner backup.
I do lose a lot of flexibility in the draft wit the extra payroll, but 2b was my main goal.
previous trade offer was Bartlett and draft pick for Rollins and Beckett or Johan Santana

Update ... Bartlett, Andrus and Bell and draft pos for Rollins, Roberts and my choice of Beckett or Santana.... which of those trades sounds best??
you just look at things much different than I do. yes, you are getting better players but they are older, more expensive players. I'd want to go into the draft with youth & inexpensive players & obviously the better draft position. Seems like your main push here was to land a 2nd basemen; isn't 2nd base very deep right now? In a 12 team league theres PLENTY of good 2nd base options to go around. It looks to me like you are buying a crutch for the winter that you don't really need.you'll end with a good option there. save your $, hold on to your youth, keep the better pick

The best 2B in the draft would be Adam Kennedy, assuming most owners keep their 2B. I think I like Bel/Andrus for Roberts. Can keep Bartlett then.
seems like there should be more than Kennedy by the time its all said n done, must be many teams with multiple 2nd basemen stockpiled. still, there are so many guys who qualify at 2nd next year, it shouldn't be a problem position to fill.

true, but Roberts was 3rd this year in our league, and I checked the lists, and the first 2b that might not be protected is over 150 pts behind. Andrus is also only a backup for me, so it is like trading Bell for Roberts. Unless he doe snot like that trade, then I have to move Bartlett for Rollins and that is testy.
