Why would they pitch him on 3 days rest in game 6 when they can have him on full rest in game 7? Either way you can only get him once...

CC pitches Tuesday, he would be on full rest on Sunday whether that is Game 6 or Game 7. I still say you have to throw Pettitte though. If the Angels are going to come back and win the series they're going to have to beat both of them, so it makes more sense to pitch them in their current order. Also, it's going to hamper the Yankees WS chances if they don't have CC in Game 1.

I agree with this. In general, I say worry about getting there and then worry about winning the World Series, but like you said, there's really no difference in your chances of advancing if you're planning on going with CC and Pettite in games 6 and 7 in either order. Unless they want to come back with Burnett on short rest in game 7 if they lose game 6 (which I think would be a mistake), there's no reason to throw CC in game 6.

If anything, I think the rain helps the Angels. If game 6 gets rained out and thus played on Sunday, that means that game 7 (if necessary) is on Monday, which would allow them to come back with Lackey on 3 days rest if they wanted to. Another interesting question though: If the Angels can somehow pull out game 6 (and there's no rain), is there any chance whatsoever that they come back with Lackey on 2 days rest in game 7?

I think they'd have Lackey available in the bullpen along with whoever doesn't start of Kazmir and Weaver.

If it's not Lackey, I would assume it would be Weaver. I don't think there's a ton of competition between he and Kaz for the #3 spot, although I suppose I could be wrong. If Lackey is available though, why not start him?

If they'd be willing to pitch him on 2 days rest now then why wouldn't they have thrown him in Game 4 against CC on 3 games rest? Then he'd be on normal rest for Game 7. On 2 days rest I don't think they'd use him for more than 2 innings, sorta how Weaver threw one inning last night.

Of course, as a Phillies fan I am rooting for this to go the full 7 to tie out the pitching, etc. I'd love to see CC have to pitch game 7 as well. In the long run, I'd like to see New Yawk win, though. I think a Phillies/Yanks matchup would be an offensive explosion, a lot of fun to watch, AND if the Phils win the series, I want them to beat the storied New York Pinstriped Yankees. We got our first title in 28 years against the damn Devil Rays last year. A title is still a title, but I wanna beat the Yanks.
