Shades of 2004, Yankee fans. A lot of nervousness in the Bronx right now, even if they don't care to admit it. Pettitte the second time through in a series is going to get hit around, Saunders too. Game 6 should come down to bullpens. If C.C. has to put down his Big Mac to pitch Game 7, all bets are off.

I'm a little more uneasy today than I was yesterday. But to be honest, I feel a lot better about this team than I have about any team since probably 2003. Maybe even further back than that. And I have all year. At any point from 2004-2008 if the starter gave up 4 runs in the first inning I would have thrown a fit and sat there pissed off all night waiting for them to lose. I was way into that game last night though, even though they couldn't hit Lackey at all. And eventually my faith was rewarded when they busted loose for 6 runs in the 7th. Even after Hughes coughed it up, I still had faith. After the two quick outs in the 9th, I normally, again, would have sat there furious. But I was edge of my seat hoping that something would happen, and it almost did.
I'm not saying this series is over by any means, but I still feel good. If they lose tomorrow night it will probably be a different story though heading into Game 7.

Well, Sabathia is the other reason that you should be more comfortable than you have been in the psat. He has been untouchable this postseason. Also, since the Angels chose to go with a 4 man rotation for the series, they don't even have the luxury of putting their strongest foot forward in game 7 if it goes there. The Angels still need a lot to happen. They need Saunders to have a strong outing and to hit well to win game 6. If they can do that, they have the choice of throwing Weaver against Sabathia or throwing Lackey on 2 days rest, neither of which are great options.

Why would they pitch him on 3 days rest in game 6 when they can have him on full rest in game 7? Either way you can only get him once...
CC pitches Tuesday, he would be on full rest on Sunday whether that is Game 6 or Game 7. I still say you have to throw Pettitte though. If the Angels are going to come back and win the series they're going to have to beat both of them, so it makes more sense to pitch them in their current order. Also, it's going to hamper the Yankees WS chances if they don't have CC in Game 1.
