I doubt he would win 10 million dollars at arbitration; nothing in the recent market for arbitration eligible pitchers indicates that is his price. Look at last year: Jon Lester signed a 5 year $30 million contract. King Felix signed a 1 year $3.8 million contract. Cole Hamels signed a contract giving him: $4.35 million in 2009, $6.65 million in 2010 and $9.5 million in 2011.
Lincecum and agent might say they want Howard money, but Cole Hamels set the record for pitchers and that matters more. Lincecum might break the record but i doubt he doubles it.
