+1,000,000. Just an illustration of the current Dodger "thinking" and a sign of things to come under Colletti's long-term contract.
Also, if your SP gets blown away after 1 inning, do you really need to be using RPs for 0.1 and 0.2 innings?

When Torre formally announced that Kuroda would start over Bills, I knew then that was a recipe for disaster. There's no way you trot a pitcher who hadn't tossed in 3 weeks, no matter how good his past record was. Bills might have struggled down the stretch, but he's the most seasoned power pitcher on the staff, just the kind of arm needed to get past a power hitting lineup.
It's embarrassing to see Torre get outmanaged thoroughly the whole series long.

In a weird way, I like the things they are. It's like watching a family more dysfunctional than yours, as evidenced with the McCourt separation. Then again, it pales in comparison to the Kevin Malone days.
...and you don't have to keep playing Mr. Obvious Wanker like you discovered penicillin when you realize the Dodgers are run by headless chickens.

Who, me? Never
(BTW you had your chance with a solid GM and blew it.)

Oh, I can't imagine what Dan Evans would have done with a longer leash.

Actually, we won so I get to stay out for another two weeks.
We don't have greased light poles like you guys on the Lightside do. Get out.
I'm not sure why you keep talking about greased light poles like it's a big thing. City workers grease them so people don't climb them during a celebration. So what? Greasing poles in case of a Phillies victory I remember that Laverne and Shirley episode where they greased the light pole at a fair or something and had to try and climb up it. That was funny!
But I do know what "get out" means and you don't have to be such a cocksman. If you can't take a little ribbing because your team lost than maybe you need to take a deep breath and a good look at your self. Max Headroom and I were going back and forth all night in Game 4 and no one took it at seriously as you.
Now...to change the subject: Did anyone else think Torre left his pitchers in a little too long at times during the series? And if so, did it occur to you that maybe Torre should have considered pulling Broxton after he walks one batter and hits another? Series on the line. Best reliever is already wild and he is not known for his Mitch Williams imitations, is he? I thought, jeez - he is going to give it up right here. He's gotta pull Broxton. But you can't in that situation, really. Broxton is the man. I'm sure the thinking is that you lived with your save man all year, how could you possibly pull him here.
That paragraph was such a ramble, but you get the gist.

Not really sure what your opinion was (regarding Broxton) because you kind of presented both sides of the argument, but I think you have to keep him in. Broxton got you there and he's been your guy the whole season. He's your best reliever, so you live with him and you die with him.
lol...thats one of the "hot spots" after big victories in philadelphia. less than a mile from my house actually and was absolutely great/wild last season.
kuroda had been very good against the phillies, as they generally struggled vs sinkerball type pitchers. pedro hadnt thrown in over a month either, and that decision ended up working out fine.
it wouldnt have surprised me to see kuroda pitch well vs the phillies, but it did surprise me to see padilla pitch well. maybe im bias, but whatever.
