People are dumb. It's a cute puppy, but it's a COSTUME contest. Putting a puppy behind a football isn't a costume, it's a posed shot.
Yeah, I'm really disappointed someone went to this extreme. We're speculating, because of the lead we had last afternoon, then the sudden, drastic change overnight, that the dog's owner figured out how to clear his history and vote over and over again and must have done it quite a bit. That's really unfortunate. Really sucks that someone did this in a silly contest. I don't want to give up though. We have a great network and I believe our entry certainly got the most 'real' votes. We just need to step up the contact and see if we can narrow that lead and hopefully (long shot) win the right way. Help if you can please.

Umm, isn't that what you're doing?
No, I've been reaching out and asking people I know, or sorta know, to vote. This person went and sat for what had to have been hours, clearing their history over and over again to vote over and over again. If my math is correct, they would have had to vote more than 300 times to create a swing of 15% like that. Kind of sad considering her daughters have worked pretty hard making fliers, walking the neighborhood, etc.

It's really a difference between the hard way or the easy way.
Making fliers/talking to people = the hard way Sitting on your computer for a couple? of hours = the easy way
I know which I'd rather do

I don't know, man, I consider one to be cheating, the other to not be cheating. By handing out fliers to individuals prompting them to go to this site and vote, you are giving them the chance to either vote for your entry or not. By sitting at your computer and constantly voting for your entry over and over again by clearing your history hundreds of times, that's manipulating the intent of the process. And that's why it's sad that someone wanted to win so bad that they stooped to this level and chose to go through the back door instead of doing it the way the contest originally intended.

So you were cheating yesterday?
Oh, you mean when I was able to vote multiple times from the same computer? I wasn't able to do that because I cleared my history. I never did that. The site allowed us to vote multiple times for some reason so I took advantage of that, of course. Had to in order to see the percentages . Hey, Aussie, I'll look the other way if you don't find anything wrong with cheating on our behalf.

Thanks.
Maybe they're just on a more popular message board.
Too bad you're not part of a Twilight message board or SternFanNetwork or something.
But I agree that it's disappointing the extremes some people will go to to win $200 worth of pumpkins.
Haha, ok it's been suggested to me that I provide some sort of incentive to get others to vote and get more voters. So, here we go (can't believe I'm setting myself up for this). If we win, I will agree to wear whatever sig/av combo of the forum's choice, no matter how, you know, whatever, for a specified amount of time. But, we have to win, and that's a long shot at this point.
