Then you retain Furcal please.
The White Sox haven't even committed to Alexei Ramirez as their SS absolutely for 2010, let alone your doing it for the 2012 season. I know you could always get another SS if Sexei were moved off to make room for G-Becks, but in a 20-teamer, you're not looking at pretty or cheap options by any stretch. The worst case scenario is that he gets moved off before 2010, and his eligibilities are out before 2011, and you'd have two seasons to cover. That's not better than letting Furcal stick 'round 'til you can do better from a kid or the like.
Keep the pick and try to draft (in order, and I'm no prospect maven): Grant Green (Tulo/Longoria comps, admittedly more so after his big turn in the Cape than after the 2009 college season), Derrik Gibson (KLaw thinks he'll be a star), Dee Gordon (chance to be Reyes?), the Taiwanese guy in the Cubs system (I think it's Lu or Hu; there are some who like him 2nd on my mini list). With Strasburg, Ackley, and the others being the elite of the first round, you could potentially take these guys a little later (not too much later on Green). And if you're at the top with a chance at Stras or the like, a Gibson might be around for even mulitple rounds. There's very little buzz about him at all.
One last note, and this is a controversial one. I have a healthy distrust of all Cuban born players' listed ages. This isn't a warning about all Latin American born players; this is much more about the players who come from a more difficult country to get info from. Just enough have been older for me to have it at least in the back of my mind. When you make a call like this, between guys with, say, 5 years difference between them, I think the risk that the ages are closer should give you pause.
