ok so they keeping showing that catch he made as he leaped up the plexiglass wall (on mlb network), and i've always wondered if the ball bounced off the plexiglass wall, would it have been a home run? i'm guessing it has to clear the plexiglass wall but why do some say he robbed the hitter of a home run?
and what was the reason for having that plexiglass wall there?

Even with the plexiglass the metrodome was notorious for HR's. Now it's a pitcher's park for the most part. goes to show that field dimensions aren't everything. I think the dome changed due to the addition of AC but I'm not sure.
