Why is the 1 game playoff in Minnesota?

Postby A Fleshner Fantasy » Sun Oct 04, 2009 10:25 pm

For the one game playoff between the Tigers and Twins, why does Minnesota get home field advantage? The records are obviously the same so it can't be that, so what's the tiebreak?

They used a game of bingo to decide who got the flip the coin.

Wrong. Head-to-head's the tiebreak, which Minnesota's ahead on this year....

It's been a coin flip for years but they changed it in the offseason because MN lost the coin flip last year to Chicago despite having the better H2H record. The rules were rightfully changed.
