Earlier I was trying to delete a 1.5gb file. (Installer for Law and Order game.) When I hit delete, explorer hung for so long that I stopped the process. Then I tried right-clicking on the file, and it hung again. No "file in use" message or anything, just hanging up with the hard drive light going crazy.

After just about pulling my hair out, I backed out one level and deleted the folder it was in... and it worked, instantly. Emptied recycle bin and moved on. But now it's bugging me. What gives? My problem is solved but it's driving me crazy because I don't understand why it happened. The game installed successfully, so the file itself should have been ok.
