Dynasty Trade - Get J Up?

Postby MaudDib » Wed Sep 16, 2009 4:29 pm

I am in a deep Dynasty League. It is only 10 teams but we carry 32 MLB players plus 15 minor league players. I have been trying to get Justin Upton because I feel he is still undervalued. I got sent an offer that is very pricey so I was wanting some opinions on whether it is worth it or not. Here is my team first.

C - Soto, Weiters
1B - Pujols, Votto, Butler
2B - Pedroia, Coghlan
3B - Longoria
SS - Tulo, Yunel, Asdrubal
OF - BJ Upton, Sizemore, Kemp, Hamilton, Rajai Davis, Rasmus and Coghlan

SP - Felix, Wainwright, Gallardo, Kershaw, Nolasco, Ervin Santana, Holland, Brett Anderson, Matusz
RP - Broxton, Capps, Howell, Fuentes

Minor Notables - Smoak, Alvarez, Hosmer, Montero, Morrison, Moustakas, Brandon Allen, Tim Beckham, Marrero...

So the trade is

Sizemore, Bruce and Yunel
for
Justin Upton

So is this worth the high price? I have a lot of talent but OF is my weakest area right now. I do think that I will more likely be able to find OF help on the WW than any other position but Sizemore is a stud and Bruce could be a stud. Escobar has not played at all for me this year so he is a throw in. I also should mention that I need to open some room up by next season so that I can call up Brandon Allen, Alcides Escobar and Brian Matusz. There aren't a lot of players that I would be willing to drop to make those moves so this could be considered Sizemore, Bruce and Yunel for Upton, Matusz and Allen but really if I made another move I probably wouldn't lose Bruce in it.

...and as always WHIR.

i think you are giving up way too much here. Sizemore had an injury plagued year, but next year should be healthy and putting up numbers similarif not better than upton.

i would not do it at all....sizemore is a top tier OFer and Bruce has lots of potential...those too guys are way more valuable on your team than Upton.....Sizemore is young and had an injury plagued yr...and Bruce is just a kid too
