Doesn't make is any less dumb IF (big IF) it indeed is true.

I'll evaluate this entire saga once it becomes clear what the organization's direction is (if that ever happens).

And the value of King Felix >>> the value of Halladay.

The rumor I read was that those six pitchers (Bard, Bowden, Buchholz, Doubront, Hagadone, and Masterson) were on a list that also included SS Yamaico Navarro and OF Josh Reddick. Seattle would have been allowed to pick any five of those eight prospects in return for Felix. Then when Jack Z said no, Theo re-worked the deal to be a three-team deal that included San Diego, with Buchholz and A-Gon being the two main pieces headed to Seattle (along with a couple more Sox prospects), with Felix going to Boston, and Morrow, Aumont, Triunfel, and a couple more Boston prospects headed to San Diego. I'm happy that Jack didn't pull the trigger on either of those.

But I would have to think that 2.5 years of Felix would be worth more than 1.5 years of Halladay, so I'd be a little surprised of this rumor was legit.

According to MLB.com's Noah Coslov, Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi has been fired.
It's been a long time coming. Ricciardi has made a variety of questionable moves since signing on as general manager in November of 2001. From Vernon Wells' contract, to the releasing of Alex Rios, to the way Roy Halladay was handled at the trade deadline this season, Ricciardi never seemed to get things right in Toronto. Assistant general manager Alex Anthopoulos has been promoted to fill the vacancy on an interim basis. Oct. 3 - 10:57 am et

What does this do to the chances that Halladay is moved now?

It doesn't change them at all. This firing tells us nothing about what they are going to do in 2010.
