Ha! I found that the other day too. Good call. That's how I found All Fall Down and Live With Me and I really like those 2. The kid's in a Metallica phase right now so I'm going to have to get that album they did with the SF symphony.

How about some good classical music? If your son only hears classical music when playing his boring lessons he'll probably never truly appreciate the instrument.

We have some good classical stuff, but I wanted some "cooler" stuff so it kept his interest more. My sister-in-law still plays and is apparently pretty good so she's planning on showing him some secrets. Being a guitarist I can help with a little bit, as far as the comfortability of something with strings, but it's obviously a drastically different instrument to play.
I was meh on DMB at first too but kept listening because I loved the drummer. Eventually the rest of the band grew on my and now they are one of my favorite bands. They are much more than the "Crash Into Me" sort of hippy-douchebag stereotype they often get labeled with. Don't listen to the radio hits, listen to songs like The Stone or #41. If you've already given them a reasonable chance and still don't dig 'em, that's perfectly fine. I just find that a lot of people go into listening with pre-conceived notions and/or are unfamiliar with their non-radio work and wind up liking them significantly more once they've discovered it.

Oh, there's maybe 3 DMB songs that I really love. #27, Gravedigger, and The Maker. And a lot of the stuff he did with Reynolds.
