I was just informed by my LM that we need to set 8 keepers, It is a ESPN 11 Team, 6x6 league , I took over the team in July and have languished in 4th place since, it is a very competitive and active league. We score offense AVG/RUNS/HR/RBI/SB/OPS and pitching WINS/ERA/WHIP/QS/K's/SVHLD (saves and holds combined so set up men are just as valuable as closers) I know that Beckham will only qualify as a 3B next season and Kyle Blanks may be iffy with only 4 starts at 1B this season. It also looks like I will have anywhere from 5th to 8th pick in the draft, and we can do trades after the season.
Joe Mauer C Justin Morneau 1B Asdrubal Cabrera 2B/SS Aramis Ramirez 3B Gordon Beckham 3B Casey McGehee 2B/3B Denard Spann OF Julio Borbon OF Nelson Cruz OF Andrew McCutchen OF Michael Cuddyer OF Chris Young OF Kyle Blanks 1B/OF (only 4 starts at 1B) Buster Posey C Alcides Escobar SS
Josh Johnson P Edwin Jackson P Jonathan Broxton P John Lackey P David Price P Brandon Webb P Neftali Feliz P Daniel Bard P Francisco Cordero P Zach Duke P
These 6 are musts: Joe Mauer C Justin Morneau 1B Aramis Ramirez 3B Nelson Cruz OF John Lackey P Brandon Webb P
I would rank the final two in this order: Edwin Jackson P Andrew McCutchen OF Neftali Feliz P David Price P Gordon Beckham 3B Kyle Blanks 1B/OF (only 4 starts at 1B) Alcides Escobar SS
Thanks for your help with mine

This would be my top seven and the 8th would be chosen between Price, Lackey and Beckham. If I had to choose today, I would probably go with Lackey over Price since we don't know where Webb is going to be physically for the start of next season. A healthy ARam means Beckham is not such a necessity.

could make a case for Price or Lackey --- or Lackey or Webb ... Webb will probably be good to go next year. Lackey seems to have issues every spring. Take the chance on Price improving in '10.
C Joe Mauer 1B Justin Morneau OF Nelson Cruz 3B Aramis Ramirez OF Denard Span SP Brandon Webb SP Josh Johnson SP John Lackey
I wouldn't see a problem with keeping Edwin Jackson over Lackey if you think he can put up numbers like he did this year again. Also, Span and McCutchen are very similar but I'd go with Span because of the difference in OBP. More opportunities on the base paths will lead to more steals.
