Guillen may be your best bet.

I think LaRoche is your safest bet. He is concistently decent, has some power, and he's been hitting the ball well recently. If your team is in good shape and you want to make sure you just dont screw the pooch, go with LaRoche.

On the other hand, Chris Davis is your high risk/high reward guy. He started off hot when he was called back up last week, but he slumped over the holiday weekend. He might bat .190 with 3 hr's and 800 k's the rest of the way, but he also might hit .260 with 10 homers and 20+ rbi. If you are in 4th or 5th place and you really need to make something happen to get into the money, Davis might be worth the risk. Though risky as hell, Davis has the best chance of replicating the stats you would have gotten from Pena....besides, LoRoche will still be there if Davis craps the bed over the next 7-10 days.

I like LaRoche, too. Even though the homers aren't coming as fast as before.

As someone who lives in the NY area and goes to see Mets games because you can get tickets for below face value.... DO NOT GRAB DAN MURPHY. People are fooled because he's hit well twice in the last week. But that's also the only good hitting he's done in a month. I'm in H2H playoffs right now and the guy I'm playing dropped Pena and grabbed Murphy, which was clearly stupid. Grab LaRoche like the other's said, he's your best bet for any kind of consistency.

I agree that LaRoche is the safest bet, he has been lights out back in Atlanta, Guillen has only been so so, Chris Davis would be a good option if you had better overall hitters in your lineup to cover up for his high strike outs and low average, but you would need a few .330 hitters to do that.

I sit corrected. When I read the original post, I thought I saw Andy LaRoche, not Adam LaRoche. LaRoche, by far, is the way to go. I've been using him over the past week while Morneau continues to do nothing.
