I went to Blizzcon this weekend, a convention put on by Blizzard, the creator of Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, and World of Warcraft. It was a ton of fun and I actually made a few hundred dollars by selling extra tickets and selling the goody bag.
By far the best part was the ~1700 computers they had set up where you could demo Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and the new WoW expansion (didn't play that as I don't play WoW). Starcraft 2 is amazingly fun and seems like it's pretty much ready to go (at least the multiplayer is, I've heard that they're still working on the single player campaign which is why it's not out yet). The graphics are awesome, the units are all really cool and have really awesome moves. I am super pumped for it to come out.
DIablo 3 was pretty fun as well and I'll definitely play it when it comes out but that probably won't be until like 2011 at the earliest while SC2 is due out next year. Needless to say I am pretty pumped for SC2 to come out and will probably play it a lot. It'd be fun to get a bunch of cafe guys who play and put some games on.
There are some replays of demo games that have been played by Blizzard employees so you can get an idea what the game looks like here:
