According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, Johan Santana will need season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow, but should be ready for the start of the 2010 season.
And the Mets' fanbase breathes a collective sigh of relief. Tuesday's MRI revealed that Santana has bone chips his elbow that need some cleaning. It certainly could have been worse, but the Mets have nothing to play for, so perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. He finishes the season at 13-9 with a 3.13 ERA. Santana has four years remaining on a six-year, $137.5 million contract with the Mets.

Lucky you, unfortunately while Yahoo posted the news about Santana headed for surgery and being out the rest of the year they still have him on the "Can't Cut List". Hopefully he will be taken off no later then tomorrow.

Santana has been removed now from the Yahoo can't cut list.
