Hey everyone,
I have Heath Bell as a RP and he pitched the last inning and got the job done, but why didn't he get the save or win last night? I am in ESPN League, so I am not sure if it is an error on their part.
Thank you again

4 run lead going into the 9th.
To earn a save, a pitcher must finish a victory (and not be eligible for the victory) and pitch:
(a) at least 3 innings
(b) 1 inning (or more) while entering with a lead of 3 or fewer
(c) enter with the tieing run on deck
None of those situations were in play for Bell because the Padres scored a run in the bottom of the 8th

Thank you for this. I now understand. I am a rookie when it comes to the rules.
Thanks again.
